Featuring over 30 walks and a packed fringe programme, the Bollington Walking Festival attracts visitors from all over the UK.

One of Britain’s biggest walking festivals in the country takes place in Cheshire between 21 and 30 October.
According to the organisers more than 30 guided walks will explore the fantastic scenery, heritage and wildlife of Cheshire’s Peak District.
A packed fringe programme also includes live music and entertainment, art and fashion exhibitions, talks, locally produced food and drink and creative workshops.
Known to locals as the ‘Happy Valley’, Bollington nestles in the foothills of the Pennine range and is a gateway to the Peak District National Park.
This is the second time the event has been held.
Ranging from one mile to 20, the walking routes have been created for people of all abilities and are led by local organisations. They include canal and heritage walks, an evening pub tour and art in the landscape.
The walks also give visitors the chance to get up close to local landmarks including the famous White Nancy. There’s even a Bear Hunt and activities for youngsters during half term.
Many of the walks are free, with others costing £2.50 for adults, £1 for children, which includes refreshments.
