Find our what the army gets up to on the Northumberland fells or open your mind to wild food around you, as part of the 2012 Rothbury and Coquetdale midsummer Walking Festival.
Taking place towards the end of June 2012 and featuring about 20 walks for many abilities and interests, the festival organisers advise to book early to avoid disappointment.
Many of the walks feature guides who, as well as knowing the area, can also help the visitor to learn about the local wildlife, plants and places of interest.
Some of the guides for 2012 are:
- Shaun Hackett – Shaun is a full time Ranger for Northumberland National Park
Shaun’s knowledge about all animals large and small is exceptional and he will convey this to the walkers during the Rothbury and Coquetdale Midsummer Walking Festrival. - Richard Holmes – Richard’s knowledge on the geology of the region is extensive.
You will leave his walks far more knowledgeable and inspired after spending a few hours in Richard’s capable hands. - Russell Tait – Russell is a full time Northumberland National Park Ranger.
What Russell does not know about the area he is walking in is not worth knowing, but best of all you will end up with a smile on your face.
The premier walking festival in Northumberland.
The Rothbury and Coquetdale midsummer Walking Festival takes place 23 June – 30 June 2012
